canal boat on the cut

We Are Now Continuous Cruisers

Would you believe it? We’ve only gone and slipped the lines to become continuous cruisers! This means we have finished the book, finished the marina contract, and finished all maintenance! OK, so not the last one. As everyone knows, maintenance is on-going, but you catch our drift.

We do still have a few things tying us to the Stainforth and Keadby Canal, so in this episode, we don’t go far. To be honest, this was a dry run to check on our systems, and it seems we have a leak in the engine bay.

Our long-term plan is to head up the tidal River Trent, through Lincolnshire, and then out into The Wash to reach Cambridgeshire. It’s a big journey considering half of it contends with tides. This is new to us, in a canal boat at least. It’s going to be pretty different to sailing!

If you are into your photography, there’s a little montage of some photographs taken with an old Canon compact camera. Since this model is considered ‘vintage’ by today’s standards, I thought I’d apply a vintage look to them.

We hope you enjoy our latest episode. It’s good to be back!
