A quick post of our short trip from Vellasaru to Rannalhi. Mainly a pictorial record of our two nights at anchor here.
The Andaarum Resort on Rannalhi, some thirty or so miles away from Vellassaru, has a younger feel to it than most of the resort islands we’d visited, a more ‘Club Med’ feel, if you will. The sail there was a great beam reach but being on the windward side of the atoll the sea-state had built up a bit.
Not so much to report here other than some great snorkelling off the end of the reef dividing the beach and Esper at anchor. The staff here were very laid back and happily filled our water jerrycans without question or charge. Plenty of photo opportunities too.
We did run into further anchoring problems when we came to leave Rannalhi. It involved Mum on the trip switch, Dad on the help and Liz and myself hauling the chain by hand. It was an arduous process, one that took almost an hour to complete.
Thank you.
