The Sail Malaysia Rally means sailing through pirates off the coast of north east Sabah. So does that also mean we need a faster sailboat?
In this week’s video, we talk to the fastest boat on the rally, a Jeanneau 440 Sun Odyssey, and wonder if our heavy old Oyster 435 is really the best boat to be sailing in this situation.
We also have a presentation from the commanders of ESSCOM (Malaysia’s combined security force) and learn about protocols for safety in dangerous waters. Esper takes the first night watch and Liz explains a little bit about what we’re looking out for.
