Six boats are taking part in the only rally happening in the world since Covid started, the Sail Malaysia Sabah Rally. Sailing hundreds of miles into the notorious Sulu and Celebes Seas between Sabah and the Philippines, there are no marinas, no boat yards, not even any other sailboats. Just us and ESSCOM, the fantastic military escort provided by Malaysia.
Imagine how you would feel if you had to make an emergency stop in high risk seas and became sitting ducks on your sailboat. That’s what happened to us and it was a tense moment for all the boats.
In this episode, we also take some time out to introduce two more sailboats who came with us: a Leopard 45 (the only catamaran); and a Tayana 37, a beautiful double-ender in the care of the infamous Roy of “Roy’s Ropes”.
Don’t forget to ‘Like’ on YouTube and add a comment, your interaction really helps us with YouTube’s notorious algorithm. ☺️
We would like to take this opportunity to say a massive thank you for all your support and for sticking with us during these extremely difficult times.
Peace and fair winds,
Liz and Jamie xx
