A perfect spring weekend in England

Us Brits are known for our obsession with the weather, and that’s because it can be so changeable, but we hit the jackpot last weekend when we went for a little cruise down the canal.

This time it was just Liz and myself, with no one to help us tie up or negotiate the lock. Not a big deal really but this was our first ‘solo’ trip, if you can call it that. Actually, it all went well, aside from one mooring escapde that fortunately wasn’t captured on camera!

The main thrust of this week’s episode, however, is the countryside. This is the first spring we’ve spent in the UK in two decades. We haven’t seen daffodils or crocuses in all that time, so cruising slowly down the canal taking all this in was a real treat. We think the video captures perfectly our joy over these slow-paced four days on the South Yorkshire canals.

We’ve thrown in a few landscape photographs in this episode too, something we’d like to be doing more of. Do let us know what you think.

Have a great weekend!
