This is your opportunity to be involved; would you like to be in our book? It has been commissioned by Adlard Coles (Bloomsbury) with the working title “Cast off the Lines: Make Your Dream a Reality.”
It’s about life afloat, from the very first acorn of an idea to moving aboard. There are chapters on buying a boat, managing crew, costs and budgets, boat maintenance, sailing experience, cruising grounds, provisioning, navigation, anchoring, an “average” day, and lots more.

The knowledge Jamie and I have gained over twenty years aboard SY Esper is the basis of this book, but I would love to be able to include some first-hand stories from other sailors like you. If you have yarns or world cruising experiences that would be useful or entertaining to dreamers, I would love to hear from you.
This book will be practical and uplifting but will not be sugar-coated; I would like readers to gain an honest understanding of the difficulties and dangers as well as the excitement of world cruising. Humour is always good and will be welcomed, but I’m also looking for authentic tales that include tips, advice, and even warnings.

There is no space for remuneration, but Bloomsbury is happy to include your name, boat name, and social media handle in the book. If you are interested, email me at liz@followtheboat.com, and I’ll reply with more details. Please note that I’m not looking for stories at this stage.
Peace and fair winds!
Liz xx
