Is it a mooring buoy or mooring ball?

It’s the new year, in fact it’s a new decade. 2020 here we come! To get us all in an optimistic mood  we’re taking you to one of our NEW best sailing destinations.

The Anambas Archipelago is one of our all time favourite spots to cruise, as anyone who has been a regular follower of our adventure will already know. During this second visit we found even more beautiful unexplored places. This cove at Pulau Akar has now swept into our top five all-time favourites.

Are you a regular viewer? Do you enjoy our work?  FTBMates is our private members club, for one-on-one chats with us. And to maybe pick up a gift or two:

  • T-shirts and Hoodies
  • Mugs and Dog-tags,
  • Hats and Bags
  • Early-bird access to FTB episodes
  • VIP content
  • Exclusive videos.
  • And YOU could be sailing with us aboard SY Esper!

But before we found Akar there was the small matter of wrestling with the mooring ball in Tarempa. Do you know the best way to pick up to a mooring buoy on a monohull? Jamie talks about how to take a mooring buoy properly with a little help from his friend, Vyv Cox, of Yachting Monthly.

Do you have a top 5 sailing destinations list? We would love to hear your favourite places in the comments.

Thanks for joining our adventure and here’s to a brilliant 2020.

Peace and fair winds
Liz, Jamie and Millie ❤️
