Sombat was in Port Takola, a nearby marina, where he had been working on a boat there. When he turned on the engine, the boat blew up. Thankfully, no-one was killed, but Sombat was seriously hurt. They rushed Sombat to hospital where he is still in intensive care.
SAILBOAT REFIT Pt 4: ELECTRICS & ELECTRONICS
The refit of SY Esper in Satun, Thailand, was extensive but perhaps the most complex aspect was the rewiring, which included the installation of a new navigation system, new lighting and additional circuits.
Shopping, Eating & Working In Fethiye
Fethiye is very definitely a ‘working’ town, despite its attraction for both tourists and yotties alike. There is an abundance of restaurants and cafes if you’re just wanting to relax or dine out. If you’re working on your boat or your house then you are spoiled for choice when it comes to shops, suppliers and repairs.
I’ve tried to capture this sense of work with a little photography project I’ve titled ‘Fethiye At Work’.
Boat Electrics and Electronics
With the addition of stereo, new VHF and various switches and monitors the left and lower dashs in the nav table area had to be redesigned. We decided to take out some of the old electronic equipment, either because they weren’t working or because they were dated and would one day be replaced with new kit.
