“For god’s sake don’t forget your camera should you visit north Lefkosia. Sounds like an obvious tip, doesn’t it? Well I forgot my SLR and had to make do with my back-up camera, a Canon G9. This is still a great compact for snaps but I could have done with my wide-angle and portrait lenses. I’m still kicking myself for this school-boy error and secretly wish to sail back to Cyprus tomorrow to do it all again. Lefkosia is one of the most photogenic places I have visited to date and the locals are a very obliging subject, providing you ask them politely.”
