I just noticed today that you have a continuous furler on  your headstay but it doesn’t look like a Sailspar (British made). What brand is it?

    Cheers!

    Hi Ron,

If you mean our Code 0, the furling mechanism is a Ronstan. Good name, eh 😉 I can’t remember if it’s a 120 or a 160 but you can find more info on this series here.

    Peace and fair winds!

Ahh yes, good old Ronstan haha.  Thanks.  We added a furler in 2018 and went with the Sailspar.  At about half the price of the Harken and the opportunity to avoid American made, for us it was a no brainer.  I dont’ remember how it compared in price to Ronstan but it was the third most economical unit I could find.  We’re very happy with it.

TBH we went with what our sail-maker suggested because he was able to get the unit at a good price. It came from the sail-loft in Sri Lanka along with the sail so it was one less hassle shopping for the hardware in Thailand.

    Peace and fair winds!
