    BIG QUESTION!

If you know there’s been a piracy attack in recent weeks, do you head towards that destination? It’s something we had to consider when leaving Tioman to get to the Anambas. Three weeks prior to our departure there was a successful attack on a cargo ship slap bang along our route. And as if that wasn’t enough to contend with, we have two knots of current and F6 winds to deal with.

Possibly one of our most exhilarating episodes to date! What do you think?

if there has just been a pirate attack on that place, difficulty will happen in the same place in the short term …and yes … and even better if the weather is s****y

next time, remember to leave your hat on your anchor place!

as you know I don’t have the complete command of the English language .. so I don’t understand all the words and the automatic translation doesn’t help me much.

no water in the bilge? how is it possible!! in the end the water ends all at the bottom.

    maybe from the anchor locker?

It seems you guys were prepared for possibilities. The fact that there was a recent incident had the coast guard already in the area (a good thing). Hope you find the source of the water intrusion soon, and thanks for showing us the raw realities of passage making (water every where and empty lockers on the bunks!).

    maybe from the anchor locker?

It’s a good guess, Danny, but our anchor locker is completely sealed. One of the problems was that the excess water was running into cupboards and other conduits that aren’t connected to the bilge, so unless they’re over-flowing the water will not escape into the bilge. Very frustrating!

Only just watched this episode and I imagine you have already found the source of the leak.  The usual suspects are hoses, clamps etc.  However, close hauled with waves splashing over the decks, it might be a leaky window or hatch.  Leaks drive me nuts and I have one at the moment that I am trying to track down but with no luck. Maybe one of those divining rods might help.

    cheers
