Looking south back over the anchorage of Lero

John and Pat taking in Lipsi

The five minute downhill run into the town centre takes in a view of the harbour and before we knew it we were scooting around the main square, where we stumbled upon some locals dancing.

It looked as though they were practising for some event, a wedding maybe? In this video clip you can just catch the ‘teacher’ shouting at the girls for not being able to dance properly. I mean, they can’t even keep their legs straight, and as for that last girl in the baseball cap – put some effort into it, love!
Midday in this heat is no time to be working outside in the sun, but these fishermen diligently sorted their nets along the harbour wall, a job I don’t envy. It occurred to me too that these guys probably spend as long sorting their nets out on the dry as they do actually fishing.

Working hard in the midday heat
Their efforts were not in vain, however, as Pat, John and I all ordered the fish in rosemary at the taverna by the anchorage. A great little spot this and I can see why the anchorage saw many boats come and go over the couple of days we spent in Lipsi.
