Depending on your definition of what justice is, the Somali pirates who murdered the crew of s/y Quest have been brought to justice.
As we work on updating our own Piracy Update service, I just spotted the latest news that three Somali pirates have been convicted of piracy, kidnapping and murder of the four people aboard Quest. We met the crew in India shortly before their final voyage. They were captured off the coast of Oman and a shoot-out between the US Navy and the pirates ensued.The details of the deaths remain shrouded, though one theory is that multiple pirate factions fought between themselves over who would take Quest back to Somalia and claim the ransom.
Our thoughts are with Elizabeth Sem, daughter of murdered skipper Scott Adam, and their respective families.
